Dry flaky scalp is a hair/scalp condition that affects so many individuals. I personally know the woes of having dandruff, and the strong desire to get rid of it. I have search and experimented with so many dandruff removing treatments and remedies, I now know what works and how to stop dandruff dead in its tracks!
•A build up of waxy products
•Hair dyes or hair chemicals that have burned the scalp
•Skin disorders like: Eczema
•Naturally occurring fungi
Dry flaky Scalp can occur in certain situations or seasons of the year, but for the severe cases, dandruff is a chronic hair issue.
Step one is to switch to an all natural shampoo. This natural shampoos have the ability to provide a ph balance to your scalp along with removing any buildup safe and effectively. Where as dandruff shampoos themselves only provide a temporary cure for those little while flakes. Also the chemicals that can be found in the dandruff fighting shampoos can actually have a worse affect on your scalp if you are allergic or have a sensitive scalp.
Examples are: Burts bees, Aubrey Organics , Avalon Organics, Beauty, Without Cruelty , Giovanni , Herbatint, Nature's Gate, Naturtint, Organix, Peter Lamas, Tints of Nature
Step two is to use an all natural scalp scrub. This will remove any residual flakes that are lingering on your head or scalp. One thing that I found about this scalp scrub is that it is much gentler then any commercial shampoo that contains sulfates. I have a very sensitive scalp and this certainly has relieved me of any white flakes or scalp itchiness. I have two versions of the scalp scrub.
Baking Soda Mix:
•1 tablespoon of Baking Soda mixed with 1 tablespoon of my favorite conditioner.
Apply to scalp. Massage in for 5-7 minutes and then rinse out the baking soda mix under luke warm water in the shower.
Next apply the Apple Cider Vinegar:
•1 oz of raw apple cider vinegar to 7ounes of distilled water
The Honey Scalp Scrub is:
•1 teaspoon of brown sugar
•½ teaspoon of honey
•¼ teaspoon of Apple Cider Vinegar
Mix all the ingredients into a small bowl until it consists of a paste like texture. Mix the treatment into your scalp for a few minutes and then rinse out thoroughly in the shower.Hot oil treatmens can also help get rid of danffuf
Make sure you follow the scalp treatment with a quarter size (½ teaspoon) amount of olive oil. Apply to your scalp and hair. Not only with this help keep the flakes away, but it will leave your hair softer and shiner than before.
This treatment should be done at least once a week or as needed to never see a flake again! Trust me the least amount of flakes you have in your hair, the better. Your hair and scalp will be healthier, shiner, and you will have more confidence with the hairstyles you choose!
For additional help make sure you are getting in enough vitamin C and give the treatment time to work for you.
